The high last night, at Seattle’s Metropolitan Fashion week-closing Gala

What a high, last night was.

The prelude: The people pacing behind the doors of SAM (Seattle Art Museum). The models practice walking down the many flights of stairs, which is the runway, in 6″ stiletto’s. The Media, marking each their square foot of room (which would lead to a few territorial hissing’s between the black-clad shooters). The hosts and designers showing last-minute love to the camera’s. The crazy backstage. Models finishing dressing into their complicated get-ups. Makeup artists dawning the last touch ups in the hallways. Last minute white backdrop fashion photographers, getting their last shots. The energy. The calm through chaos.

Then there’s me, fortunate and grateful to have been granted a media pass, to cover as much as possible. Capturing as much as one can shoot in this short time, full of awe, creation, fantasy, drama.   _DSC9668_DSC9663_DSC9671 _DSC9667 _DSC9685 _DSC9687

Its starting time (fashionably late of course), the attendee’s get to their assigned seats, the media piles, the lights dim, the DJ blasts Sia through the cathedral-like, vaulted, ceilings.

The show begins.

The show’s over. The audience is thrilled, they make their way to the after party at the Four Season’s hotel.
